Joni Mitchell, David Letterman, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang i Jakob Dylan, którzy początkowo wytypowali 2103 „kawałki” z minionych 50 lat. Aż 202 nagrania z finalnego zestawienia pochodzą z lat 60., natomiast ostatnią dekadą XX wieku reprezentują jedynie cztery kompozycje: „Smells Like Teen Spirit” zespołu Nirvana, „Lose Yourself” i „Stan” Eminema oraz „Hey Ya!” duetu Outkast.
