Flea wydaje piosenki Rivera Phoenixa

River Phoenix zmarł 31 października 1993 roku z powodu przedawkowania w wieku 23 lat. Flea, który tego dnia był z Phoenixem, postanowił oddać hołd aktorowi i muzykowi poprzez wydanie jego piosenek.

River Phoenix był członkiem kapeli Aleka’s Attic (którą tworzyli także m.in. siostra Rain Phoenix oraz późniejszy gitarzysta Deerhunter, Josh McKay). Dwie niedokończone piosenki kapeli zostały dopracowane i wyprodukowane przez basistę Red Hit Chili Peppers.

Płyta z tymi piosenkami ukaże się 23 sierpnia 2020 roku czyli w 50. rocznicę urodzin Rivera Phoenixa.
